“Jesus wants the Church to declare the Good News and He wants the Church to be Good News”
This is the idea behind the Un Grano de Arena Project as launched by Los Pinos Nuevos Church in Old Havana.
Un Grano de Arena (A Grain of Sand)
Great Door Ministries serves the A Grain of Sand Project with Los Pinos Nuevos Church in Havana, Cuba.
With our help, LPN hand-delivered over 65,000 home-cooked meals to their neighborhood elderly between since February 2011! For each of these precious people, this daily visit and provision of food has so touched their hearts with the love of God that almost all of them have received Christ as their Savior since the lunches program started!

This is such an exciting and tangible outreach: Providing lunches and winning hungry hearts. Los Pinos hand delivers homemade lunches to elderly men and women in Old Havana Monday through Friday! On Fridays each elder receives two meals to help them through the weekend.
Yes, we love these folks who receive the meals every day! Some are near the end of their natural lives, yet they are being embraced, transformed by the love of Jesus, and now are experiencing new life in Him as the church reaches out to them day after day.
Great Door Ministries helps provide the resources for these meals and visits; YOU provide it through your offerings to GDM!

LPN has been asked to add more people to the A Grain of Sand Project as there is much need for this in the neighborhood. Please pray and give with us to see many, many more souls impacted through the church being Good News in Old Havana!
MISSION TRIPS – Un Grano de Arena Community Outreach
God can use YOU in Havana, Cuba! Great Door Ministries takes missions teams to partner with the LPN and the Un Grano de Arena Project. Painting and repairing buildings in the neighborhood, working with elderly in arts and crafts workshops, serving people with illnesses and distributing medicines, and building relationships with elderly Cubans are a few of the things we do on the trips.
A GDM Missions Trip is focused on strengthening the relationship between the church and the community, showing God’s love in every activity so that people see a Living Gospel – bringing hope and practical help to their lives.

We are also there to enjoy and get to know our church family in Cuba. We have a wonderful time eating meals together, sharing our testimonies, worshipping and praying together with some of the most precious believers on planet earth. To say that these times are ‘special’ is a huge understatement! These are life-changing relationships that impact all of us forever.
Why missions trips? We know that not only does the church and community in Cuba get blessed when a group comes to serve – but each team member is radically impacted by the experience. Stepping out in faith in a new way, being stretched to trust God, learning about missions, experiencing a different culture and language, watching God do miracles all along the way, spending time in prayer to prepare, serving others in humility, dealing with some big challenges, and facing our fears are all things that bring change in our hearts and cause us to grow up in God. Why missions trips? Because the result is changed lives.

And guess what?! A GDM Missions trip is FUN! Yes, lots of hard work, sweaty days, and some sore muscles are a part of the package of a missions trip for sure. But so is a whole lot of fun! One of our teams members said on the last trip, “I can not remember the last time I laughed so much!”. The JOY of the Lord really is our strength so we have a lot of fun experiencing the missions trip adventure together.
